Self-help book reviews
Square-Peg-Stacks
offers self-help book reviews covering self-help topics such as women’s issues,
relationships, depression, finding a “tribe”, creativity, life purpose, dealing
with grief, anxiety, career change and more.
I’ve been reading since I was very young - there have been times when books were
the only “friends” I would let in.
I love books! And I love sharing books.
My goal, in Square-Peg-Stacks, is to share - with you - my excitement about
books that have touched my heart. To create a place you’ll come looking for self
help book suggestions - encouraging words for the journey of life.
Books have offered me hope, when I felt there was none. They have shown me ways
to get past blocks, or work through pain. Books have normalized my emotions: let
me know that I wasn’t the only one who felt a certain way.
And books have kept me from spiraling down and out of human reach. They have
been a bridge to the world - that has allowed me to walk out of isolation into
connection with others.
Many times when I’ve been able to recommend a book that I thought was a good
“fit” for someone, or would be helpful in what they were going through, they
would come back to me and say things: “That book changed my life!” or “That was
just what I was looking for.”
I hope that you will find something helpful for your situation in these book
reviews.
The self-help books reviewed meet Square-Peg “regulations”, meaning: they
won’t offer one size fits all fixes, they will help us appreciate who we are -
NOW - not at some distant point.
